Wills and Probate
Fixed fees for wills usually give you a fee for the most basic type of will. This would normally include preparing a will that leaves very few legacies, appoints guardians if necessary, and leaves the residue in a straightforward way to a person or equally to a number of people or charities. If you require any tax planning advice, you have complex issues to deal with, or wish to include things such as discretionary trusts or rights to reside in your will, there will usually be an additional fee to pay. Please ensure that you check exactly what is included in the fixed fee that you have been offered. Fixed fees will usually be available for a single will, for an individual; mirror wills, for couples; a codicil, for an amendment to your will by way of a further document and sometimes living wills, or advance directives. The fixed fee prices below include VAT.
Fixed fees to deal with a deceased's estate will often depend on the value and complexity of the estate. They may also be offered as 'packaged' services to assist with dealing with completing specific forms or documents needed along the way rather than dealing with the whole matter, eg completion of the inheritance tax forms or drafting the Oath. Please ensure that you know exactly what is included in the fixed fee that you have been offered and check any disbursements that would also need to be included such as Probate application fees.
